Available on all Maier machines except Series F4, the “Hybrid” spindle allows the operator the flexibility to remove the guide bushing unit and synchronization, typical to all “Swiss type” machines, when shorter components are to be machined. Therefore, the parts are turned while being held by the spindle collet, much like how a typical lathe works.
When it is required to return back to “Swiss type” machining, the guide bushing and synchronization are easily reinstalled on the machine in a short amount of time. Usually less than 15-20 minutes!
With a Maier machine, it is always an option to have a “Swiss style” machine or with a simple change, you can have a regular lathe.
